What do you want to import?

Start with the product itself. The regulatory pathway follows what the article actually is — not the industry it sells into.

Materials matter more than you would expect. Composite wood, wireless modules, animal or plant content, food contact and antimicrobial claims each pull in a different federal programme.

Where does it come from, and where is it going?

Origin and destination both change the answer — origin through agency and trade-remedy programmes, destination through state law.

Naming the actual factory, not only the trading company, is what makes a standing review meaningful.

Send whatever documentation you already hold.

Nothing is mandatory here. Anything you can attach shortens the review, and gaps in the document set are themselves a finding worth knowing about early.
